Almost ten years ago, green from my school days, I set off with my backpack to spend six months in East Africa and Southeast Asia. Those trips left me with a wanderlust that has never wavered (in the words of Michael Palin “Once the travel bug bites there is no known antidote, and I know that I shall be happily infected until the end of my life”).
46 countries later and I feel like the list of destinations I can’t wait to explore is continuously growing – and that doesn’t even consider the places I’d love to return to!
In recent years, along with my love to escaping to new countries, I have become increasingly excited by the cuisine that different countries have to offer and so sampling different restaurants has become an increasingly important part of my itinerary with food papping becoming an increasingly bad habit…
All those years ago, I took a diary with me and today I am inspired to write an updated diary of sorts; more modern both in terms of format (please excuse me for any mistakes while I learn to get to grips with technology) and content (less teenage drama and more an account of my continuing travels of the world). I hope the blog will inspire, or continue to encourage, wanderlust in those who stumble across it and in turn to pick up travel recommendations and insights from others along the way.
