A little while a go I ignored all the naysayers who write Colombia off as dangerous and only for those who are into their hard partying and set out with some girlfriends to discover Colombia’s other side. I am so glad that I did…Colombia quickly proved itself to be one of the best countries I have ever visited. Not only was there so much to see and do (and no none of it was white and powdery…except maybe the pristine sand on the beaches) but the people were so kind, friendly and enthusiastic and not once did I feel unsafe.

Hiroshima
Having settled into our very comfortable room at Hiroshima Aioi, a lovely traditional ryokan right by the Hiroshima Peace Park, complete with a sobering but incredible view straight out onto the Atomic Bomb Dome, we took advantage of our location and headed straight out to the Hiroshima Peace Park and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. A quick tour of Taipei – day one
Escape eat explore has suffered from a serious lack of attention while I focused on revision, but there’s lots to share from my pre-exam holiday to Japan and Taiwan and revision breaks so expect a flurry of posts! First up, our brief sojourn in Taipei.
A Jordanian road trip
Although you can fly from one end of Jordan to another, there are so many phenomenal sights packed into this tiny country that I couldn’t recommend a leisurely road trip more. There are three roads in Jordan, the slowest of which – the King’s Highway – is by far the most spectacular.
